Kitson Electricians Newcastle

We’re proud to call Newcastle home and even prouder to serve the people in our community through our family-run business. For us, it’s not just about wiring and switches. It’s about building genuine relationships, showing up when it matters, and treating our own.

Kitson Electric started with a simple mission: to offer honest, high-quality electrical work that locals can truly rely on. From small fixes to big installs, and even those unexpected late-night emergencies, we’re here to get the job done right, quickly, safely, and with a friendly face you can trust.

Thanks so much for supporting a local business. We’re genuinely grateful for the opportunity to work with you and look forward to helping you keep your home or business running smoothly.

Distinguished and Famous people from Gulf Savannah

📚 Dick Roughsey (Goobalathaldin)

Lardil artist and writer Dick Roughsey worked on cattle stations in the southern Gulf after his schooling on Mornington Island. His biography records a life spanning stock work, seafaring and artistic practice, with enduring connections to his island country and Gulf communities. Later recognition brought his paintings into major collections. He became known nationally through creative work informed by that much broader experience.

🌾 Stan Collins

Stan Collins managed Spring Creek station near Mount Surprise and spent many years on Etheridge Shire Council, including eighteen as chairman. His work ranged from fencing and improving cattle herds to arranging roads and mail services. He was also a founding director of Bush Pilots Airways, which carried mail and medical services through the Gulf and Cape York. The family’s later negotiations over land containing lava tubes helped create Undara Volcanic National Park and an associated tourism enterprise. His regional association combines a working property, council service and the practical business of connecting dispersed communities.
